This 1940's house had two small problems: a small kitchen and an even smaller dining room. The dividing wall was removed to create space for an expansive kitchen with a comfortable, casual dining area. Beautiful custom cherry cabinetry, dyed concrete counters and an immaculate tile backsplash set this kitchen apart from the rest.

This jobsite was once again the owner's home throughout the construction process. Therefore, Clearspan Carpentry set up a temporary outdoor kitchen and installed a plastic barrier equipped with user friendly Zip-Walls to isolate the jobsite from the living quarters. The home remained dust free throughout the project, even within feet of the construction.

The existing flooring throughout the home was the original oak, clear and colorful. The original kitchen, as is typical for Northend homes, had doug fir flooring. This fir flooring was removed and #1 and #2 oak was hand selected and laced in for a seamless install.

The concrete counters were poured in place, dyed to the Client's specifications and finished with a sprinkling of quartz and a 3000 grit diamond grinder. The counters are glass smooth, filled with character and nearly half the cost of granite.
