Design challenges aside, the greatest achievement in this remodel was maintaining clean and comfortable living quarters for the clients for the duration of the project. The initial phase was the complete remodel of the master suite. The new bath has an adjacent walk in closet, with many built-ins. The bathroom floor is travertine inlaid with decorative tiles created by the client. In addition, the vanity is an antique the client found at a local shop.

Hardwood floors were installed throughout the kitchen and living quarters and a new gas furnace was installed. The entire crawl space and attic was insulated with R-19 and R-38 respectively. With the addition of new double-paned Low E windows, the clients are noticeably more comfortable and are already saving money on their energy bills.

The main bathroom was also completely remodeled. New space was taken from the old master closet, allowing for the convenient relocation of the washer and dryer from the garage. As well, two cabinets were custom built for storage.

The kitchen remodel required a small, but unnoticeable bump out onto the front porch. The old kitchen had zero flow and limited work space. Our new design maintains the informal eating area, now upgraded with a 6'x3' maple butcher block. New cabinets, new lighting and new granite tile countertops completed the transition from dated to dynamic.
